Our client is a well-established and diversified group of companies in Myanmar with ambitious plans to expand its portfolio and establish new businesses across key growth sectors.

The Position

Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Investment, the Business Development / Strategy Manager will identify and develop new business, investment, joint venture and partnership opportunities across Agriculture, Logistics, Mining, Healthcare, Real Estate and Power. The role will lead opportunities from initial screening through market assessment, feasibility study, investment approval, regulatory development and execution handover.

The successful candidate will conduct market, competitor and value-chain assessments; prepare business cases, feasibility studies, investment proposals and management presentations; and develop or review financial models covering CAPEX, OPEX, EBITDA, cash flow, IRR, NPV and payback. The role will coordinate commercial, technical, financial, legal and regulatory due diligence, prepare Investment Committee papers, engage potential partners and advisers, and support negotiations involving MOUs, LOIs, term sheets and joint venture structures.

The position will also coordinate applications and approvals with relevant ministries, the Myanmar Investment Commission and other regulatory authorities. This individual will manage cross-functional stakeholders, monitor project risks and milestones, and ensure approved ventures are commercially sound and ready for implementation.

The Person

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline, with an MBA or CFA qualification considered advantageous. Candidates should bring approximately 7–10 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, investment or project development, preferably involving business expansion or new business setup within one or more of the following sectors: Agriculture, Logistics, Mining, Healthcare, Real Estate or Power.

Strong commercial judgment, financial modelling, analytical, negotiation and executive presentation capabilities are essential. Experience conducting feasibility studies, developing investment proposals, coordinating due diligence and managing projects through approval stages will be highly valued. Knowledge of Myanmar’s regulatory environment and experience engaging government stakeholders would be an advantage.
