The Company

Our client is an established mining and exploration company in Myanmar with ongoing projects supporting the development of the country’s natural resources and infrastructure. As the organization continues to expand its mining activities, they are seeking an experienced construction engineering leader to strengthen the technical and site delivery capability of their operations.

The Position

The Chief Construction Engineer will take overall responsibility for construction engineering and site execution across mining-related projects. The role will oversee project schedules, heavy machinery allocation, material deliveries, labor productivity and contractor performance, while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within approved budgets.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in reviewing and approving engineering drawings, structural designs and construction methodologies. The role will lead and mentor site engineers, project managers and technical personnel while maintaining strong standards across safety, construction quality, QA/QC and regulatory compliance.

You will also manage material and labor costs, contractor payments, equipment procurement and project resources. A key part of the position will involve resolving complex site and design issues and coordinating closely with geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental and utility specialists throughout project execution.

The Person

You will ideally hold a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline, together with a Professional Engineer (PE) qualification or equivalent professional certification.

Candidates should bring 15+ years of construction and engineering experience, preferably involving large-scale mining, infrastructure, industrial or similarly complex site-based projects. Strong capabilities in structural engineering, construction methodologies, project management, contractor management and resource planning are essential.

You should be an experienced people leader with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills and be comfortable working extensively on-site in Myanmar under varying site and environmental conditions.
