The company is undertaking a significant refinery development project as part of its long-term growth strategy, focusing on building integrated and scalable energy infrastructure. The Position

Reporting to senior leadership, the Construction Director will take full responsibility for the end-to-end construction and delivery of refinery development project, overseeing all phases from early planning and engineering coordination through to construction, commissioning, and project close-out. The role will provide strategic direction to the construction function, ensuring that all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

This includes leading project planning, resource allocation, contractor and vendor management, and the development of detailed schedules and cost forecasts. The Construction Director will drive robust project governance, risk management, and contract management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory, HSE, and industry standards while minimizing operational and financial risks. In addition, the role will work closely with internal stakeholders, engineering teams, and external partners to ensure seamless integration across all project phases, while implementing performance monitoring systems and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize delivery outcomes.

The Person

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced construction leader with a proven track record in delivering end-to-end refinery or large-scale oil & gas infrastructure projects, from concept through to commissioning and handover. They bring deep expertise in managing complex, capital-intensive developments, with strong capabilities in project planning, contract negotiation, stakeholder management, and HSE compliance. The individual demonstrates strong leadership and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and contractors in high-risk environments, with a clear focus on safety, quality, cost control, and timely delivery. Prior experience in greenfield refinery construction and exposure to international standards and best practices will be critical for success in this role.
