The Company
Our client operates within the energy and petroleum downstream sector and is strengthening its refinery operations team in Myanmar. The organization is focused on safe and efficient plant operations, product quality, operational reliability, process safety and continuous improvement.
The Position
The Control Room Panel Engineer will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation of refinery processes through DCS, ESD and SIS systems, covering the Atmospheric Distillation Unit (ADU/CDU), Jet-A1 Hydrotreater and Hydrogen Production Unit. The role will monitor and control key process parameters, optimize operating conditions, respond to abnormalities and coordinate closely with field operators to maintain stable plant performance and product quality.
The position will also support pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, shutdown and performance testing, including loop checks, alarms, trips, permissives and interlock verification. The successful candidate will play an important role in emergency response, troubleshooting, process safety, HAZOP/MOC activities and the training and development of local panel and field operators.
The Person
Candidates should ideally hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Petroleum, Process, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; candidates with a Process Operations Diploma and extensive refinery operating experience may also be considered. Strong hands-on knowledge of DCS, ESD, SIS, alarm management and refinery process monitoring systems is required.
Candidates must bring at least 10 years of refinery operations experience, including 8+ years of CCR/Panel operating experience. Direct panel operating experience across ADU/CDU, Jet-A1 Hydrotreater and Hydrogen Production Units is mandatory, together with proven startup, shutdown, emergency handling and troubleshooting capability. Refinery commissioning/startup experience and previous exposure to Jet-A1 production facilities will be highly regarded.
