The Company
Our client is a leading financial services organization in Myanmar, operating across multiple business lines within a regulated environment. As the organisation continues to strengthen its leadership team, it is seeking an experienced executive to support the Chief Executive Officer in driving business performance, organisational effectiveness, and long-term strategic priorities.
This is a high-impact executive leadership opportunity for an accomplished banking professional who combines commercial leadership with strong operational execution and stakeholder management experience.
The Position
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating the Board's strategic direction into measurable business outcomes while overseeing day-to-day operations across the Bank. The role provides leadership across multiple business functions to improve operational efficiency, strengthen profitability, support digital transformation initiatives, and ensure effective execution of strategic priorities.
Working closely with the executive leadership team, the successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional business activities, monitor business performance, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation. The position will also represent the CEO when required, maintain strong relationships with regulators and key external stakeholders, and promote sound governance, compliance, and risk management practices.
As the Bank's second-in-command, the role will contribute significantly to leadership succession planning while developing executive capability, strengthening organisational collaboration, and ensuring the successful implementation of Board and Executive Committee decisions.
The Person
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 15 years of progressive banking experience, including at least 8 years in senior executive management, together with a proven track record of leading multiple business functions within a commercial bank. Experience overseeing strategic planning, business performance, operational excellence, and organisational transformation within a regulated banking environment will be highly regarded.
Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of banking regulations, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, and regulatory compliance. Previous experience working closely with Boards of Directors, regulators, shareholders, and senior stakeholders is essential, together with a successful record of driving loan and deposit growth, improving operational efficiency, and leading digital or business transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded and decisive leader with excellent financial acumen, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and communication skills. They will possess the ability to build high-performing leadership teams, influence senior executives, navigate complex business challenges, and inspire organisational performance through collaborative leadership.
