The Company

Our client is a well-established manufacturing and distribution company with a strong market presence and nationwide operations. As the business continues to grow, the company is focused on improving manufacturing reliability, operational efficiency, and asset performance to support production targets and future expansion plans.

The Position

Reporting to senior management, the Engineering Consultant will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing engineering and maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and increase overall manufacturing efficiency.

The successful candidate will assess current maintenance practices, identify root causes of recurring equipment failures, and establish preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve machine availability and production performance. The role will be expected to drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance maintenance planning processes, optimize spare parts management, and strengthen engineering controls across the manufacturing operation.

Working closely with Production, Quality, and Operations teams, the individual will develop maintenance KPIs, monitor equipment performance trends, and implement best practices to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce breakdowns, and extend asset life cycles. The role will also support equipment upgrades, process improvements, CAPEX initiatives, and technical problem-solving activities.

The key objective of the role is to establish a sustainable maintenance culture that minimizes unplanned downtime and improves manufacturing productivity.

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience leading engineering and maintenance functions within manufacturing environments.

Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of reducing equipment downtime, improving maintenance effectiveness, and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, packaging, industrial manufacturing, or other high-volume production environments would be highly advantageous.

Strong expertise in maintenance planning, root cause analysis, reliability engineering, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, OEE improvement, CMMS systems, and asset management is highly desirable. Experience leading engineering teams and driving operational change initiatives will be important.

The successful individual will be a hands-on engineering leader with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, capable of identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions that deliver measurable improvements in equipment reliability, plant performance, and production output.
