The Company

Our client is a growing downstream energy business in Myanmar with an expanding network of retail fuel stations. The company is focused on strengthening operational performance, enhancing customer experience, and scaling its market presence across the country.

The Position

Reporting to senior executive leadership, the Head of Retail Fuel Stations will take full ownership of the nationwide fuel retail network, with responsibility for both fuel and non-fuel business performance. The role will lead overall strategy, operations, and commercial delivery across the station network, ensuring strong fuel volume growth, margin optimization, and consistent operational standards. The incumbent will oversee dealer and station management, drive retail pricing and sales initiatives, and ensure effective execution of marketing programs to enhance customer traffic and loyalty. A key focus will be strengthening operational discipline, safety, and compliance standards across all sites, while improving service quality and customer experience.

In parallel, the role will drive the expansion and monetization of non-fuel retail offerings, including convenience retail, F&B partnerships, and value-added services, positioning stations as integrated retail destinations. The General Manager will also play a critical role in network expansion, evaluating new site opportunities, supporting development projects, and optimizing the existing portfolio. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners will be required to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives, while building a high-performing team and establishing strong governance, reporting, and performance management frameworks across the business.

The Person

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in downstream oil & gas, with a strong track record in managing retail fuel station networks at scale. He or she will have deep expertise in fuel operations, dealer management, sales and marketing execution, and operational excellence, complemented by exposure to non-fuel retail business such as convenience stores or F&B partnerships. A commercially driven leader, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage P&L performance, drive revenue growth, and implement strategic initiatives across multi-site operations.

Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving market environment. Experience in emerging markets or complex operating environments will be advantageous. The role requires a hands-on yet strategic leader who can balance day-to-day operational demands with long-term growth objectives, and who is capable of building and leading high-performing teams to deliver sustainable business results.
