Myanmar Start-Up Phase
US BioTech JV
The company is a JV between an established US biotech firm and a Myanmar conglomerate complete with an Asia-wide licence to manufacture and distribute a unique product range of healing and disinfectant solutions that improves and saves lives. Developed from a non-hazardous synethesis of pure biocide and ECA process, the products disable and kill surface- and air-borne pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi and similar) with market potential across multiple industry sectors. The company is about to build its Asia team and this includes the need for a General Manager in Myanmar for its market entry and growth.
Whilst reporting to a Chief Sales Officer, the appointed GM will be responsible for spearheading market entry, product sales and market penetration across Myanmar whilst establishing a strong commercial platform as well as building, motivating and growing a high-performance team of operations professionals. This will include the development of an integrated Online/digital e-commerce platform complemented by traditional retail marketing and distribution components. The scope will include investment, development and management of technology, manufacturing and supply chain operations complete with continuous monitoring of sales, product pricing, demand and supply forecasts and the necessary adjustments with respect to marketing and promotions activities. The objective will be the delivery of top- and bottom-line growth and market share within both B2B and B2C segments. Underpinned by country and sector market analysis, this exciting role will implement brand strategy, category marketing and partner development whilst ensuring the product value proposition is clearly defined and communicated to target customers.
Interested candidates should offer Degree and/or Masters (Business, Marketing), 10+ years of sales & marketing and product distribution experience, preferably secured within a combination of e-Commerce and traditional retail/distribution environments and with an ability to oversee IT projects/digital marketing strategy. Current or prior FDA exposure relating to pharma, biotech or consumer healthcare product regulations is strongly preferred. Given the international JV and cosmopolitan ecosystem, interested candidates must offer excellent English language proficiency complete with appropriate financial, commercial and operational acumen and internal stakeholder management. The position is open to local/repat or expatriate talent, the latter currently stationed in Myanmar or seeking to return.
In return, the company will offer an annual salary of around USD$50-75k+/- plus bonus.
