The Position

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager will provide overall leadership for the business and be responsible for driving commercial growth, operational excellence, financial performance, and organizational development. The role will oversee the full spectrum of business activities including manufacturing, supply chain, sales and marketing, finance, procurement, and corporate functions while ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

This position will lead the development and execution of business strategies aimed at increasing revenue, improving profitability, strengthening market share, and supporting long-term expansion plans. The successful candidate will oversee manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, productivity, and service levels while driving continuous improvement initiatives across production planning, inventory management, procurement, and supply chain performance. Working closely with commercial teams, the General Manager will also support customer growth, product innovation, pricing strategies, and market development initiatives to enhance competitiveness and strengthen the company's position within the industry.

The role carries full P&L responsibility and will require strong financial leadership through effective budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and performance monitoring. In addition, the General Manager will build and develop high-performing teams, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and ensure effective succession planning and talent development across the organization. The position will also be responsible for maintaining strong governance, food safety, quality management, and regulatory compliance standards while ensuring adherence to all relevant operational, legal, and food manufacturing requirements.

The Person

The ideal candidate will bring substantial leadership experience gained within food manufacturing, bakery, frozen food, FMCG, or closely related industries. They will have a proven track record of managing complex business operations with full P&L accountability and delivering sustainable growth through a combination of commercial leadership and operational excellence. Experience leading manufacturing environments, improving operational performance, optimizing supply chains, and developing successful market growth strategies will be highly valued.

The successful individual will possess strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to translate business objectives into practical execution plans. They will be a hands-on leader who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, with the ability to influence stakeholders, build strong teams, and drive organizational performance. Strong financial management, analytical capability, problem-solving skills, and a sound understanding of food safety, quality systems, HACCP requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks are essential for success in this role.
