The Company
Our client operates within the energy and petroleum downstream sector and is strengthening its refinery technical team to support safe operations, asset reliability, control-system integrity, and continuous plant improvement.
The Position
The Instrument Engineer / Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and improving instrumentation and control systems across refinery operations.
The position will support field instrumentation, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, PLC, DCS, HMI, ESD, alarm, interlock, Fire & Gas, and communication systems. Responsibilities will include preventive and predictive maintenance, instrument calibration, loop checking, control-system troubleshooting, alarm and interlock testing, commissioning, startup, shutdown, turnaround support, and root-cause failure analysis.
The role will also coordinate with OEMs, control-system suppliers, instrument manufacturers, and external technical specialists while developing the capability of local instrumentation engineers and technicians through coaching and practical knowledge transfer.
The Person
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline, with approximately 5–10 years of Instrumentation & Control experience within oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, energy, or process industries.
Strong troubleshooting capability across PLC, DCS, HMI, ESD, alarms, interlocks, field instrumentation, and communication systems is required. Hands-on Holysis DCS experience is mandatory. Experience in refinery maintenance, commissioning, startup, calibration, loop checking, process safety, HAZOP, MOC, and technical training will be highly regarded.
