The Company

Our client is an established organization within the energy and petroleum downstream sector, focused on safe, reliable, and efficient refinery operations. The business is strengthening its technical capability to support operational readiness, asset reliability, maintenance excellence, and sustainable plant performance.

The Position

The Maintenance Manager will lead the overall refinery maintenance function covering Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Rotating Equipment, Reliability, and Maintenance Planning. Reporting to the refinery leadership team, the position will establish and continuously improve preventive, predictive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance systems to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance.

The role will oversee routine and emergency maintenance, shutdowns and turnarounds, equipment troubleshooting, major failure investigations, Root Cause Analysis, spare-parts planning, maintenance budgets, and reliability improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will also work closely with Operations, Projects, EPC contractors, OEMs, engineering consultants, and HSE teams during commissioning, startup, operation, and plant improvement activities.

An important part of the role will be building local technical capability through structured coaching, knowledge transfer, and competency development, while strengthening CMMS/ERP-based maintenance systems and data-driven maintenance practices.

The Person

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 10 years of maintenance experience within refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, energy, or process industries, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

Proven exposure to refinery commissioning, startup, shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance management is strongly preferred. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability strategies, rotating and static equipment, utilities, electrical and instrumentation systems, together with strong leadership, troubleshooting, coaching, HSE, and stakeholder-management capability. CMRP, RCA, RCM, NEBOSH/IOSH, or similar certifications will be advantageous.
