The Company

Our client is an established organization operating within the energy and petroleum downstream sector in Myanmar. The business is focused on safe, reliable and efficient refinery operations, with continued emphasis on operational excellence, workforce capability development and continuous improvement. 

The Position

The Panel & Field Engineer will support day-to-day refinery operations through process monitoring, field supervision, technical troubleshooting and operational optimization. The role will work closely with the Shift Manager, Control Room Operators, Field Operators and technical teams to maintain stable and efficient plant operations. Responsibilities will include monitoring DCS and process parameters, supporting field activities, assisting with startup and shutdown operations, participating in commissioning and performance testing, resolving process issues and supporting refinery stabilization and continuous improvement. The position will also act as a technical communication bridge between Chinese technical experts and local operational teams. 

The Person

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Petroleum, Process, Refining Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of refinery, petrochemical, Oil & Gas or process plant operations experience. Strong understanding of refinery process operations, DCS and process control systems is required, together with knowledge of CDU, VDU, utilities, tank farms and offsite facilities. Experience in refinery commissioning, startup, troubleshooting and production optimization will be highly regarded. Fluent spoken and written Mandarin Chinese is mandatory, as the role requires regular communication and coordination with Chinese technical experts and stakeholders. Good English communication skills are also required.

Candidates should be comfortable working in rotational shifts and supporting plant startup, shutdown, emergency response and stabilization activities.
