The Company
Our client is an established energy and industrial group with ongoing refinery operations and development activities in Myanmar. The organization is strengthening its operational leadership team and is seeking an experienced expatriate Shift Manager to support safe, reliable and efficient refinery operations.
The Position
The Shift Manager will take overall responsibility for refinery operations during the assigned shift, ensuring safe and stable plant performance, production targets, product quality and compliance with operating procedures. The role will lead control room and field operations teams, coordinate startup, shutdown, emergency response and troubleshooting activities, and work closely with Process, Maintenance, Instrumentation, HSE and Technical Services teams.
The Shift Manager will also support operational readiness, commissioning and continuous improvement initiatives while providing clear shift handovers, performance reporting and guidance to local operators.
The Person
The successful candidate will have substantial refinery operations experience, ideally with previous experience as a Shift Manager, Shift Superintendent, Operations Supervisor or equivalent within a refinery or petrochemical facility. Strong knowledge of DCS-based plant operations, process troubleshooting, startup/shutdown, emergency handling and refinery safety is required. Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is mandatory to support effective communication with Chinese technical specialists, contractors and project stakeholders.
