The Company
Our client operates within the petroleum downstream and refining sector, with a strong focus on process optimization, operational excellence, safety, product quality, and sustainable refinery performance.
The Position
The Process Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing refinery process operations to improve product recovery, operational efficiency, plant stability, energy performance, and profitability.
The position will conduct daily process calculations, material and energy balances, process-performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization studies while supporting refinery units including the Atmospheric Distillation Unit, Hydrogen Plant, Jet A-1 Hydrotreater, and associated process facilities.
The role will also evaluate feedstock processing opportunities, support product-quality compliance, investigate process deviations, and participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, Management of Change, commissioning, testing, debottlenecking, and plant improvement projects. Process modeling and simulation using Aspen HYSYS will form an important part of the position.
The Person
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline, with approximately 5–10 years of relevant process engineering experience within oil refining, petroleum processing, petrochemical, energy, or related process industries.
Strong understanding of refinery processes, process troubleshooting, material and energy balances, process simulation, and refinery optimization is required. Experience with Aspen HYSYS, refinery performance monitoring systems, process data historians, and linear optimization tools will be highly regarded. Exposure to commissioning, process safety, HAZOP, and refinery operations will be advantageous.
