The Company

Our client is a large industrial business operating within the energy sector, with activities covering petroleum refining, storage, distribution and related operations. The business operates in a highly regulated, safety-critical and asset-intensive environment. As part of its continued organisational development, the company is seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to lead the HR function for its refinery operations.

The Position

Reporting to senior business and HR leadership, the Senior HR Manager will lead the full spectrum of HR activities for the refinery business, acting as both a strategic HR Business Partner and operational HR leader. The role will support business objectives through workforce planning, talent management, organisational development, employee relations, leadership development and HR operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include workforce and manpower planning, succession planning, talent acquisition, performance management, HR operations, employee and industrial relations, organisational effectiveness, learning and leadership development, compensation and benefits, HR governance, employee engagement and workforce analytics. The successful candidate will also work closely with senior management on organisational structure, workforce capability, talent risks and change initiatives while ensuring compliance with labour regulations, HR policies and governance standards.

The Person

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader with a strong background in HR business partnering, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations and HR operations. Experience within refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, manufacturing or other large industrial environments would be highly advantageous. You should have 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership or HR Business Partner role, with strong exposure to workforce governance, organisational change, labour law and senior stakeholder management. A relevant Bachelor's degree is required, while an MBA or professional HR qualification would be advantageous.
