Job description

  • Private Equity Firm

  • Myanmar-Dedicated Fund

  • Location: Yangon / Singapore

The Company

The company is a Myanmar-focused institutionally-supported Private Equity Fund, considered to be the most significant to be established in the country to-date. Founded and led by a market-savvy international management team offering resounding SE Asia investment/exit experience, the sector-agnostic platform aims to generate long-term returns via growth investments. There is a current need to appoint an Associate / Investment Manager.

The Position

Based in either Yangon or Singapore, the appointed individual will enjoy a multi-faceted scope that will provide full life-cycle investment responsibility. This will include preliminary support to deal-sourcing, financial analysis, underwriting and due diligence, the crafting of investment memos, terms proposals and transaction management through to active participation in subsequent portfolio performance management. Concurrently, the appointed individual will collaborate with, and coach, Analysts and Associates to cultivate learning from bottom up and to ensure rigor and attention to detail with respect to market and sector research, financial modelling and investment valuation. Whilst sector-agnostic, investments are likely to be skewed towards the consumer, healthcare, education, financial and FinTech sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a Myanmar-focused PE firm with capital to deploy, a long-term commitment to Myanmar whilst upholding qualitative standards of excellence.

The Person

Interested candidates should offer good Degree and/or Masters in Business, Economics or Finance from a noted University and approximately 5-8+ years’ relevant investment, M&A/corporate finance experience secured within Private Equity/Venture Capital, Big Four (Corporate Finance / M&A teams), boutique Investment Banking or Corporate Development environments. In particular, interested candidates must be self-driven, resourceful and able to multi-task whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines. There will be a strong preference toward candidates able to process abstract information and investment ideas whilst comfortable proposing investment prospects supported by financial and commercial analysis.

Note: Applications are invited from suitably-qualified Burmese investment professionals currently located in Myanmar or Singapore.
