Asia Start-Up Phase
US BioTech JV
Location: SE Asia
The company is a JV between an established US biotech firm and an IndoChina-based conglomerate complete with an Asia-wide licence to manufacture and distribute a unique product range of healing and disinfectant solutions that improves and saves lives. Developed from a non-hazardous synethesis of pure biocide and ECA process, the products disable and kill surface- and air-borne pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi and similar) with market potential across multiple industry sectors. The company is about to build the Asia team and ready to appoint a Chief Sales Officer to establish, strategically lead and control the commercial arm of the business.
Whilst collaborating with the US HQ and its R&D team, the appointed individual will be responsible for spearheading product sales and market penetration across 35+ Asia countries whilst building a strong internal and external commercial platform, the development of strategic partnerships for the manufacture and distribution of product whilst delivering top- and bottom-line growth and market share within both B2B and B2C segments. Underpinned by country and sector market analysis, this exciting role will develop and implement brand strategy, category marketing and partner development whilst ensuring product value proposition is clearly defined and communicated to each target audience. Necessarily, there will be a need to build a strong in-house sales & marketing team augmented by the selection and direction of external distribution and PR partners. As a member of the strategic leadership team, the CSO will establish long-term sales goals, monitor sales and marketing effectiveness (campaign management), determine hiring needs for the commercial team whilst providing performance reports to the Board.
Important Note: Initially, the position can be undertaken remotely, however, a final decision with respect to the location of the regional HQ has not yet been made. As such, interested individuals should offer mobility within the SE Asia region.
Interested candidates should offer a Degree and/or Masters (Business, Marketing), 15+ years of sales & marketing experience including at least 5 years proven success as a CSO within the pharmaceutical or life science industry. This will include a firm grasp of all key commercial parameters relating to financial returns, budget management, strategic sales, marketing and distribution management for regional expansion across multiple new markets. This should include a firm grasp of digital marketing and communications strategies, an entrepreneurial appetite and insightful knowledge of biotech, pharma and healthtech products. Interested individuals should offer bi-lingual English and Mandarin language proficiency.
In return, the company will offer a salary of around USD$100,000 nett plus bonus.
