The Company 

This is a first-class opportunity to join a Singapore REIT Manager enjoying progressive growth of its commercial asset portfolio since listing. As a result of expansion plans, it is now ready to appoint a stand-alone Compliance Manager to manage the end-to-end of the function.

 

The Position 

Operating within a lean team and reporting to the CFO, the Compliance Manager will hold responsibility for all aspects of the compliance and regulatory management to MAS guidelines and in accordance with REIT licencing, Securities & Futures Act and similar laws, codes and regulations. Necessarily, the successful individual will maintain all policies and processes whilst providing appropriate internal guidance, education and advice to the management team. The scope will include the management of forms, declarations and announcements to the regulators (MAS, SGX), controls around Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-bribery, insider trading and Personal Data protection. There will be a need to monitor and apply regulatory updates or revisions as well as any other relevant new market updates that might impact the organization whilst providing advice to the senior management team. The role will include the management of internal compliance models and controls to ensure a robust, yet compliant-friendly, operating framework is sustained including the management of breaches and complaints.

Initially, support will be provided by an external consultant to ensure the appointed individual is trained to become well-versed in all aspects of the REIT compliance function and associated regulatory matters. As such, it offers excellent personal development exposure.

 

The Person 

Interested candidates will offer a Degree and 2-3 years in-house REIT compliance management experience or, alternatively, Big 4 consultancy experience relating to REIT audit & compliance whilst offering appropriate insight relating to Capital Markets & Securities, Companies Act and the Code of Corporate Governance Practices. The appointed individual will relish a hands-on role and the empowerment to lead the compliance function whilst enjoying professional development concurrent to the growth of the business. Due to the need to engage with cross-border personnel bi-lingual fluency of English and Mandarin is essential.
