Leadership Position (Expatriate Appointment)
Location: Yangon, Myanmar
The company is a dynamic Myanmar conglomerate with broad, multi-sector business interests comprising Real Estate, Construction & Engineering, Manufacturing, Energy, Agriculture, Hospitality & Leisure, F&B and Banking. With close to 5,000 employees, its banking business is substantial complete with a broad nationwide network of branches. To support ongoing growth, the firm now wishes to appoint a suitably-experienced expatriate professional as Deputy Head for HR.
Located in Yangon, the appointed individual will oversee all critical HR functions whilst offering a capability to steer specialist HR functions, act as a Business Partner to department Heads whilst generally planning, managing and directing resources whilst meeting the objectives of the organisation. This will include all facets of HR from policy development, resource planning, talent acquisition and management, training, performance management, employee relations and administration management through to ongoing, long-term strategic projects around succession-planning and leadership development programmes. Naturally, there will be a need to collaborate with other corporate functions to ensure HR strategy and operations is aligned to business needs. This will also include compliance to statutory regulations.
This suits an individual offering a wealth of similar retail banking HR leadership experience, most probably secured in their home country of Malaysia, Thailand or the Philippines and now ready to challenge their acumen in a new international location.
Interested candidates from Malaysia, Thailand or the Philippines are invited to apply. Such individuals should offer at least 7+ years HR leadership experience whilst ideally having been exposed to managing a banking environment of at least 1000+ employees. A Degree and Masters (HR-related accreditation or Business) is preferred whilst demonstrating stakeholder management credentials at every level of the organisation (Board, Executive Management, Middle Management to entry level) and healthy combination of strategic and operational HR experience. Aside from a balance of EQ & IQ, interested individuals should offer very strong English language proficiency that will allow for organisation-wide engagement.
Aside from a competitive salary, the appointed individual will secure customary expatriate benefits (accommodation, travel allowance, annual bonus).
