Job description

  • Commercial and Mixed-Use Property
  • Fast-Growing Conglomerate
  • Location: Yangon, Myanmar

The Company

The company is a fast-growing Myanmar conglomerate operating across the real estate, construction and hospitality vertical including construction materials, Greenfield commercial and residential developments, trading and financial services. Given a plethora of current and forthcoming real estate development projects, the company has aggressive plans to hire mid- and senior-level professionals across a number of critical real estate, construction, property and facility management functions. This includes a need for an experienced Facility Manager.

The Position

Reporting to a Property Manager whilst supervising a ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ facilities/maintenance team, the appointed individual will collaborate with an in-house maintenance team and external vendors to oversee critical engineering systems across the portfolio of assets. Besides equipment installation, commissioning and daily management, this will include the planning and delivery of preventive and corrective maintenance of low voltage building M&E, fire protection, water supply and waste water treatment systems as well as building networking and communication systems. The Facility Manager will develop an engineering handbook relating to all technical and operational procedures relating to the engineering systems of each property whilst monitoring performance to improve building efficiency (energy, utilities), reduce cost and improve building inspections to better determine the need for repair and renovation. Aside from critical systems, the FM team will also be responsible for in-house and outsourced ‘soft’ services including concierge desk, landscaping, security, cleaning and car parking whilst ensuring that the company complies with relevant laws and building codes as defined by the YCDC and similar.

This position suits an appropriately-experienced local/repatriate keen to fully utilise a wealth of hard and soft facility management expertise within a growing multi-asset developer.

The Person

Interested candidates will be local/repatriate Myanmar nationals who offer an appropriate Degree (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) and at least 10+ years relevant experience leading all aspects of preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of critical building systems, strong project planning acumen and prior team supervisory experience for in-house teams and external vendors. Aside from an ability to represent the building Owner, the appointed individual should also demonstrate appropriate ‘soft’ skills to support the needs of corporate tenants.
