The Company

This is a superb opportunity to join an exceptional international Group enjoying stellar growth across APAC. It is focused toward real estate investment, development, asset and fund management of Greenfield/Brownfield real estate assets on behalf of institutional investors. It has built a highly cosmopolitan team and a regional asset portfolio in excess of US$12bn whilst its growth will continue apace as the company enters new markets and pivots to include new asset types. To support its regional growth story, the Group now seeks to appoint a Senior Associate to manage regional insurance for its growing real estate portfolio whilst playing an active part in mitigating its operational risk.

The Position

Reporting to the Departmental Group Head whilst closely collaborating with key internal stakeholders, the appointed individual will enjoy a rare opportunity to support the APAC-wide business activity of the group comprising its insurance and business continuity management. 

The insurance function will support real estate development and construction projects and mature asset operations; this will include the co-ordination, management and administration of appropriate insurance policies (100+) and additional risk-related matters and which will also necessitate broad engagement with external commercial insurance brokers. The role will include the sourcing and procurement of insurance coverage across the region whilst closely collaborating with property management, development and risk engineers to secure and apply loss prevention advice whilst securing appropriate insurance across the property portfolio. Necessarily, there will be an accompanying need to raise risk awareness across the Group and particularly at the asset / operational level whilst also managing claims procedures that might arise. Administratively, there will be a requirement to collate key underwriting information to selected insurers whilst maintaining detailed records of all transactions relating to the policies, underwriting information, quotations and premiums.

The BCM function will support the Group Head with design and implementation of appropriate systems to ensure business-critical activities are recoverable and/or operational in the event of interruption. This will include analysis of key business activity and processes whilst ensuring BCM programmes are appropriately designed complete with associated risk assessment and planned training and awareness exercises to appointed Incident Response Teams.

This is a fabulous opportunity for a Commercial Insurance professional to take up an in-house role with one of the most dynamic, regional real estate investor/developers.

The Person

Interested candidates will offer an appropriate Degree complete with 7-10+ years’ prior experience managing and administrating commercial insurance contracts with exposure gained in-house as well as experience previously gained as an account executive within an international broking house. Current or prior exposure to real estate/property & construction projects, including relevant engineering risk and/or commercial property operations insurance coverage is essential. This should include experience reviewing insurance clauses within property-related contracts (leases, design, construction contracts) whilst dealing with international insurance placements within, and on behalf of, a large Multinational/international company. The appointed individual will demonstrate a keen attention to detail (including data collection/management), superb stakeholder management acumen and an ability to provide appropriate insights to advise and mitigate risk across the Group. Interested individuals will have a huge appetite to operate within a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects.
