The Company

The organisation is the global real estate arm of a noted institutional investor (LP) with an impressive $50bn AUM portfolio. For a number of years, it has been aggressively growing its APAC real estate investments including direct and indirect investments, partner investment platforms and associated real estate ecosystem, including PropTech, renewables and similar, the latter underlining a strong commitment to long-term sustainability.Having established Singapore as its APAC HQ, it is presently building its core team. This includes the proposed appointment of a Tax Manager to support all investment structures across the Asia Pacific region

The Position

Based in Singapore and as a key member of the Asia Pacific team, the Tax Manager will report to the Global Tax Director. This will include responsibility for the management of tax risk in connection with investment transactions as well as the maintenance of structures and statutory compliance requirements in the region. There will be a need to plan and supervise the execution of tax due diligence, explore optimum tax structures and drive associated implementationfor each entity. Naturally, the Tax Manager will monitor and advise any tax risk or issues in relation to their structures as well as supporting the group in identifying the best financing solutions from a taxation perspective. The Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the tax statutory requirements are completed within the designated timeframe.

The Person

Interested candidates should have a degree or any equivalent qualification with at least 10 years gained from either a Big 4 and/or within the real estate investment, property, or investment & asset management industry. The successful individual is likely to offer a mature, responsible and business-like attitude with a tacit appreciation for accountability whilst also offering outstanding written and verbal communication skills to enable stakeholder liaison at all levels.
