The Company 

The company is a dynamic Myanmar conglomerate with broad, multi-sector business interests comprising Real Estate, Construction & Engineering, Manufacturing, Energy, Agriculture, Hospitality & Leisure, F&B and Banking. Its integrated oil terminal and large-scale petrol station network is a market-leader within the country. The firm now wishes to bolster the team with the appointment of a suitably-experienced expatriate to lead commercial management of the Retail Station cluster.

The Position

Located in Yangon, the appointed individual will oversee all commercial aspects of a large retail station network with broad coverage across Myanmar. Leading a team consisting of station managers and retail management, the appointed individual will craft and implement strategies (branding, marketing, advertising, promotion) for revenue growth and bottom-line profitability relating to fuel, retail, minimart and car wash services and associated loyalty card membership expansion whilst identifying new commercial opportunities as well as operational improvements. The role will establish annual financial and operational targets whilst monitoring and reporting performance, active management of the team to raise performance whilst undertaking ongoing research and competitor analysis to identify gaps or created differentiated product and services. Naturally, aside from internal stakeholders, the Commercial Head will engage with existing and potential vendors/suppliers to improve commercial terms, external product support and/or to improve merchandising range and average spend. The appointed individual will lead, motivate and monitor performance of the team whilst ensuring a high-performance culture is established underpinned by compliance to EHS and fire safety and general corporate governance policies.

This suits an individual offering a wealth of similar retail and petrol station management experience, most probably secured in Malaysia or Thailand, and now keen to be tested in a new international location whilst enjoying a senior leadership position.

The Person

Interested candidates will be Malaysian or Thai Nationals offering commercial leadership of large-scale retail/petrol station networks complete with strong people development and P&L management. Interested candidates should be highly self-motivated whilst offering exceptional communication and organisational skills.
