Job description

  • Noted Myanmar Conglomerate

  • Commercial & Operational F&B Leadership

  • Expatriate Appointment located in Yangon

The Company

The company is a dynamic Myanmar conglomerate with broad, multi-sector business interests comprising Banking, Real Estate, Construction & Engineering, Manufacturing, Energy, Agriculture, Hospitality & Leisure and F&B. The firm wishes to appoint a suitably-experienced expatriate as General Manager to immediately conceptualise and lead a new Coffee F&B venture whilst building a road-map of future F&B formats.

The Position

Located in Yangon, the appointed individual will enjoy a highly entrepreneurial position to research, conceptualise, create, implement, operate and expand a proposed Coffee F&B venture that is expected to be integrated into its in-house network of petrol stations. The end-to-end nature of the role will be extensive. This will include appropriate market studies and competitor analysis, the development of a proposed Coffee F&B concept for integration into its already-integrated petrol station and CVS infrastructure, team hiring and appropriate training programmes, menu and pricing development, marketing, operational standards and associated SOPs, quality control and customer satisfaction channels. Naturally, holding P&L responsibility, the appointed individual will drive the business from a commercial perspective. Key decisions will be underpinned by business planning, marketing strategy, sales forecasting and plans for phased expansion.

This suits an individual offering a wealth of similar vertically-integrated F&B/QSR ventures whilst relishing the entrepreneurial challenge driving new F&B business concepts within an emerging market environment.

The Person

Interested candidates will offer 15-20 years’ appropriate commercial and operational leadership for F&B/QSR ventures, preferably offering experience from initial concept development, operational development and sustainable business growth. Multi-format Coffee F&B experience is preferred whilst current or prior professional exposure gained in Asia will be advantageous. The position will suit individuals who are culturally adaptive, resilient, versatile and entrepreneurial with an ability to drive in a hands-on, lead-from-the-front manner.
