The Company

The organisation is a dynamic, well-respected investor and developer of broad vertically-integrated retail-focused business units comprising food, non-food, F&B and shopping mall concepts. With a strong brand presence and growing portfolio underpinned by massive investment commitment, it plans continued growth across Vietnam over the next 5 years. Supported by a massive investment commitment, its Retail division will continue its fast-paced growth over the next 5 years to sustain market leadership. The firm will make a couple of senior appointments by Q1 2022 including a Director for Mall Product Development.

 

The Position 

The appointed individual will enjoy a commercially-focused, visionary role to develop and launch inspirationally diverse mall concepts (F&B and non-food retail) that will positively impact top-line revenue, occupancy, customer-attractive diversified trade mix that creates heightened footfall. Supported by market research, the appointed Director will drive appropriate commercial strategy underpinned by P&L budgeting and management. A primary focus will be to source, evaluate and negotiate new investments (consisting of full acquisitions or equity partnerships) with local F&B and retail brands as well as the evaluation of franchise partnerships with noted international F&B brands. Concurrently, the appointed individual will oversee operations and expand the Group’s fledgling in-house F&B concepts and driven via roll-out programmes within its Mall portfolio and more broadly nationwide (including location, site sourcing and terms agreement). Naturally, there will be a concurrent need to ensure that mall guidelines and standards are created and implemented for each new concept whilst revenue performance data tracking will also be vital. Overall, the appointed individual will build a pipeline of potential F&B/non-food partners, develop concepts to maximise occupancy and establish new exciting F&B destinations.

 

The Person

Interested candidates will be Degree-holders offering around 15+ years’ relevant experience within retail and F&B commercial/product development including at least 5+ year in a leadership capacity with exposure to multi-format retail mall environments. Interested candidates should offer prior partner development and equity investment/M&A experience (possibly gained within Developer, Consulting, PE/VC or Corporate environments) and further supported by high-level F&B operations exposure including P&L responsibility. Current or prior experience gained within Asia is strongly preferred complete with a proven ability to adapt to new markets and to work under pressure within cross-cultural teams.
