The Company

The company is a successful multi-sector conglomerate and which is embarking upon its latest venture, an ambitious multi-phased, large-scale urban and integrated resort development. It is now building its core senior management team. This includes a need for an experienced Project Director to oversee all aspects of coastal reclamation, geo-technical studies and infrastructure construction projects whilst co-ordinating internal and external stakeholders.

The Position 

Reporting to the CEO, whilst closely collaborating with Project and QS teams, the appointed Project Director will lead and manage a site team for the completion of all projects according to the master schedule whilst steering planning, design and site supervision of project, consultant, contractor teams. This will include overseeing engineering design to ensure it meets codes of practice as well as conforming to the statutory standards whilst also ensuring permanent and temporary construction works meet health & safety requirements too. There will be concurrent responsibility for the management of tender exercises, project award and terms negotiation for all reclamation and infrastructure contracts whilst overseeing subsequent contracts administration and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure that design, specification and quality requirements are being met as stipulated.

The Person

Preferably offering Owner/Developer-side experience, interested applicants will ideally possess a relevant Degree (Civil, Geotechnical, Coastal Engineering), and around 10+ years’ relevant experience of multi-disciplinary project management for infrastructure development, large-scale coastal reclamation and coastal engineering works and with at least 5 years background as a Senior PM. In particular, interested individuals must offer proven practical experience relating to the following skills: geotechnical and engineering design, soil tests, geotechnical instrumentation, coastal engineering works, land reclamation, temporary bunds and perimeter bunds construction and soil improvement / PVD installation. Please note that bi-lingual Mandarin and English language proficiency is essential.

In return, the company will offer a salary in the region of USD$165k-195k nett per annum plus benefits.
