Our client is a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution group with an established presence across Myanmar and international markets. The organization operates modern manufacturing facilities producing regulated pharmaceutical and healthcare products aligned with international quality, safety, and compliance standards. With strong ambitions for capacity expansion, export growth, and operational excellence, the group is seeking senior leadership to drive the next phase of its manufacturing platform.

The Position

The Chief Executive Officer will have full responsibility for the end-to-end performance of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role carries full P&L accountability and oversight of manufacturing operations, quality, compliance, supply chain, and commercial performance, while navigating Myanmar’s evolving regulatory, taxation, and inflationary environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full ownership of factory P&L, driving sustainable profitability and cash discipline
• Leadership of manufacturing operations covering productivity, yield, downtime, and capacity utilization
• Ensuring strict GMP compliance and readiness for local and international regulatory inspections
• Oversight of quality systems, audits, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Strategic planning for local market supply, export expansion, and government tender participation
• Optimization of supply chain, procurement, and cost structures amid inflationary pressures
• Building and leading a high-performance, accountable leadership team across functions
• Managing external stakeholders, regulators, partners, and group leadership

The Person

The ideal candidate is a commercially astute manufacturing leader with deep pharmaceutical production experience and proven CEO- or Plant-Head-level responsibility.

Key requirements:

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 10 years in senior leadership
• Proven track record managing regulated manufacturing environments with full P&L ownership
• Strong exposure to oral solid, injectable, and/or liquid dosage forms
• Deep working knowledge of GMP, WHO, FDA, and international quality standards
• Experience operating in emerging or complex regulatory markets is highly preferred
• Strong leadership presence, financial acumen, and ability to balance compliance with commercial performance
• Degree in Pharmacy, Science, Engineering, Medicine, or related field; MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage
