The Company 

The company is a leading Microfinance (MFI) institution operating across Myanmar. Led by an international management team, the organization has grown rapidly and consistently. There is now a need to hire a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to be part of their team

The Position

Based in Yangon, the appointed individual will report to the CEO and ensure the overall strategy and goals are met via the delivery of the products and services through their branches. There will be a need manage the creating and implementation of the organization’s marketing plan to raise product awareness and evaluate the current product offering as well as revise the products and services as required. The COO will work closely with the CEO and the CFO to direct the preparation of operational plans, budgets, develop performance reporting system and make recommendations for MIS reports. The COO is part of their Management Team and the Executive Committee member and will be responsible for the overall performances and activities of the organization. There is also a need to oversee and manage staff at the operational level.

The Person

To succeed in this role, interested candidates should hold a degree with at least 10+ years of relevant experience with 7 years in a similarly strategic role. Candidates must have prior experience in working in a Microfinance / Bank / Financial Institution.  The role requires candidates with strong business management, negotiation and business analysis experience. As the role is based in Myanmar, the client’s preference is for Burmese candidates who are currently based in Yangon.
