Our client is a prominent and fast-growing pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution group, the company plays a significant role in supplying healthcare and medical products across Myanmar. As the organization continues to expand and its operational environment becomes more complex, the need for enhanced legal oversight and robust compliance frameworks has grown.

To reinforce its governance standards and ensure effective legal risk management, the Group is confidentially seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support and strategic guidance across all business units.

The Position

Reporting to senior leadership, the Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support across the organization. The role covers a wide range of responsibilities including corporate and commercial law, labour law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, dispute support, and internal policy development. The appointed individual will assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements and legal documents, ensuring the organization’s interests are always protected. He or she will contribute to the development and implementation of governance frameworks, compliance procedures, and internal controls to align with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.

 The role will also support coordination with external counsel, engage with regulatory authorities, and assist with litigation and arbitration matters. Additional responsibilities include supporting intellectual property management, ensuring timely renewals and registrations, and contributing to legal awareness and training initiatives within the organization. This position requires the ability to manage multiple matters concurrently, operate with strong judgement, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across diverse business functions.

The Person

 The ideal candidate will hold a recognized law degree and bring experience from reputable law firms and/or corporate legal departments. Candidates should possess broad exposure to key legal areas including corporate law, commercial contracts, labour regulations, regulatory compliance, and dispute processes. The role requires strong analytical abilities, sound judgement, and the capacity to anticipate and mitigate legal risks. Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to engage confidently with government officials, regulators, external advisors, and internal leaders. Experience with intellectual property, corporate governance procedures, and regulatory environments related to manufacturing or distribution industries will be advantageous. Fluency in English is required.
