The Company 

The organisation is a large, multi-sector listed conglomerate boasting multiple successful international business divisions. This includes an award-winning Real Estate Development division at its central hub and which is pivoting towards a new, integrated business model complete with new sectors and solutions. An addition to its real estate portfolio is a new team focused toward large-scale, integrated urban planning and smart city development solutions within which there is a desire to appoint a Business Development & Operations Manager to secure new opportunities whilst co-ordinating project kick-off for subsequent delivery.

The Position       

Located in Shanghai, Beijing or similar major travel hub in China, whilst reporting to the international GM for Business Development, the appointed individual will hold responsibility for two concurrent functions. Firstly, the appointed individual will hunt for new potential projects, most typically building relationships and seeking collaboration with Government authorities and/or Private Sector development partners, for new urban mixed use large-scale development projects and townships. Naturally, this will involve high-level engagement with multiple stakeholders to research and determine a proposed pipeline of nationwide projects, complete with commercial and technical feasibility studies, whilst presenting the company’s innovative and fully-integrated master-planning, design and technology solution. Upon project award, the second phase will focus toward preparing and co-ordinating all internal and external stakeholders for the commencement of project delivery complete with project monitoring and reporting.

The Person 

Interested candidates are expected to offer a Degree in Finance, Engineering/Architecture or Business Administration and 10+ years’ relevant experience within real estate planning, design and development/construction. This should include a strong record of driving new Business Development for real estate design, planning or project solutions/services complete with demonstrable success in securing large-value contracts. Naturally, the position requires broad knowledge of the local business environment, preferably with a network within real estate developer, consultant and Government bodies, extremely strong bi-lingual Mandarin and English communication skills and appropriate commercial acumen.
