The Company

Our client is a diversified conglomerate with a growing portfolio of businesses across energy, natural resources, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. The group has built an expanding presence across downstream petroleum distribution, mining resources, and power generation while actively evaluating new investments in energy infrastructure and related sectors.

As part of its continued development in the downstream energy sector, the organization is strengthening its refinery technical leadership to support operational excellence, improve processing efficiency, and enhance refinery capabilities as the energy platform continues to expand.

The Position

Key responsibilities include overseeing the overall refinery operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance across all processing units. The role manages refinery production planning, throughput optimization, and maintenance programs while driving operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement across the refinery.

The position also supervises fuel-based power generation supporting refinery operations, ensuring stable and efficient energy supply for continuous production. The role works closely with trading, logistics, and terminal teams to coordinate feedstock procurement, supply chain operations, and the distribution of refined products across the downstream network.

In addition, the role ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while implementing strong operational risk management practices. The General Manager will lead refinery teams across production, engineering, maintenance, and safety functions, strengthening operational discipline and promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The Person

The successful candidate will bring strong technical and operational experience within refinery operations or downstream petroleum processing environments. The individual should have a solid understanding of refinery processes, operational systems, and plant performance management. Experience supporting refinery operations in complex industrial environments will be valuable. The candidate should possess strong technical problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work closely with operational teams to improve refinery performance and operational stability. Fluency in Mandarin and the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural operational environments will be important for the role.
