The Company

Our client is a diversified conglomerate expanding across Southeast Asia, managing a portfolio of businesses across multiple industries. The group’s core activities are primarily centered around the energy and oil & gas sectors, including downstream energy operations, fuel trading, logistics, and distribution.

As part of its long-term strategy to expand renewable and infrastructure assets, the group is exploring investment opportunities in hydropower and other large-scale energy projects. To lead this endeavor, there is an immediate need to appoint a well experience Business Development Director.

The Position

The Business Development Director – Power will lead the identification, development, and execution of new energy infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on hydropower development and strategic energy investments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and originate hydropower and energy infrastructure development opportunities
  • Conduct feasibility studies and support project structuring and financial modeling
  • Lead engagement with government agencies, utilities, and infrastructure partners
  • Manage project development processes from concept through investment approval
  • Support negotiation with EPC contractors, technology providers, and project partners
  • Work closely with financing institutions to structure project financing solutions
  • Support long-term strategy for the group’s renewable and infrastructure energy portfolio

The Person

The successful candidate will bring strong experience in energy project development, particularly within hydropower, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects. The individual should demonstrate a strong understanding of project structuring, energy policy frameworks, and infrastructure investment models. Experience engaging with governments, regulators, and development finance institutions will be valuable. The candidate should also possess strong commercial and negotiation skills and the ability to lead complex energy project developments from early-stage concept to implementation.
