Job description

  • In-house & Third-Party OTC Products

  • Responsible for GCC / Africa & SE Asia

  • Location: Dubai

The Company

The company is a growing family-driven conglomerate, progressively raising and enhancing its capabilities in Asia, North America and, soon, GCC & Africa. Its core business activity is pharmaceutical manufacturing & distribution supported by FDA-approved facilities in the US and Asia. The company now wishes to enter and penetrate the Middle-East and Africa and, as such, it wishes to appoint an appropriately experienced professional as GM (Business Development) to manage the start-up phase of the Dubai operation and its regional growth.

The Position

Reporting to the CEO, the appointed individual will be responsible for establishing the Dubai operations including appropriate legal incorporation, licencing and regulatory framework, office space and similar before shifting focus toward regional business development. The latter will include the sourcing, evaluation and appointment of product distribution partners including management of all commercial terms and revenue objectives and supported by a sound capability to manage product supply chain including import/export into the GCC and Africa; in time responsibility may extend to SE Asia. Necessarily, critical factors to consider will include distributor reach and market coverage, a capability of meeting target profit margin whilst also taking care to assess and mitigate financial and regulatory compliance risk. The appointee will prepare annual budgets, sales forecasts and country-by-country IRR projections whilst ensuring appropriate product launch strategies including operational processes (supply chain, shipping from the US and Asia region) are prepared and deployed.

This is a super opportunity to secure a leadership position to spearhead regional market entry and growth. It is well-suited to a hands-on, dynamic professional comfortable operating within an entrepreneurial, family-run environment yet offering formative corporate experience.

The Person

Interested candidates should offer a Degree (Scientific field or Business) and at least 15 years of management experience, preferably within Business Development,   incorporating business expansion in multiple geographies and including a strong record of achieving profitable market entry, growth and IRR. Knowledge of pharmaceutical and healthcare products, regulatory compliance and distributor evaluation, appointment and management are equally vital. Ideally, you will be presently located in Dubai and/or the surrounding Emirate states.
