Job description

  • Noted Singapore REIT
  • Champion for Sustainability/ESG Initiatives
  • Location: Singapore

The Company

The REIT consists of a portfolio of 50+ assets supported by a dynamic sponsor that offers scope for ongoing expansion via development and asset acquisitions. It boasts a very strong and stable senior management team whilst planning to double its current AUM over the next 3 years. To support its ambitious growth plans whilst ensuring its portfolio meets appropriate Net Zero targets, there is now a need to appoint a suitably experienced Sustainability Manager to ensure the successful integration of practical sustainability & ESG programmes.

The Position

Reporting to the CEO, the appointed individual will craft and spearhead appropriate sustainability initiatives, establish achievable goals and milestones relating to Net Zero targets, develop and implement ESG-related policies and programmes whilst evaluating and recommending practical asset-level technologies, systems and processes and broader carbon credit schemes. The role will champion ESG whilst educating and guiding internal stakeholders with respect to key initiatives and their benefits, monitoring and quarterly/annual reporting on portfolio performance (including GRESB) whilst effectively communicating actioned strategies to supporting vendors and other external stakeholders.

The role will comprise strategic direction-setting and practical solutions whilst concurrently developing and promoting a series of benchmarking and reporting standards (GRI, TCFD, ISSB) whilst delivering ‘best-in-class’ solutions that deliver meaningful results.

The Person

Interested candidates will offer an appropriate Degree (Engineering/Building Services/Real Estate/Facilities/Estate Management) and a minimum of 5 years’ prior experience in sustainability management preferably secured within a real estate developer, REIT/Fund or services provider. The appointed individual will offer sound knowledge of sustainability frameworks, measurement and reporting underpinned by practical ‘real asset’ solutions. As such, the appointed individual will offer ready-familiarity with GRI, TCFD, CDP, SASB and similar.  In addition, strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills will be important as well as a self-motivated, driven personality with an ability to operate within a dynamic environment.
