The Company

The company is a multinational company that is recognized as a producer and supplier of engineered metals and chemical products. With a strong workforce of 200+ employees in the Philippines, they are now expanding and re-inventing technology to optimize results and product quality. In line with this, they are now looking to hire a Senior Technical Manager/Associate Director who will be responsible for the technology and process development activities.

 

The Position

The Senior Technical Manager/Associate Director will be responsible for external contract R&D projects as well as new materials and process research. He/She will focus on new product and process developments. This includes advancing processes for laboratory, pilot and full-scale materials manufacturing. Naturally, he/she will direct the technical staff and lead the diagnosis of the plant processes, developing solutions to the process issues, implementing the new process and training the production personnel. The appointed individual must be updated with advance technology which is relevant to the plant’s existing and new business. The Senior Technical Manager/Associate Director should ensure that the company’s programs are scientifically/technologically sound and produce maximum impact for the business. This position emphasizes the ability to assimilate and apply knowledge from a combination of disciplines including chemistry, hydrometallurgy, engineering, material science, technology and business management including project financial justifications and analysis.

 

 

The Person

Interested candidates must have Master's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy. Ideally with 10 years of experience in high technology advanced materials development and manufacturing process development including 5 years in R&D leadership. We are looking for someone with strong technical insights and problem solving, critical and creative thinking skills; capable of developing and implementing technical and R&D plans; strong project management and organization skills; strong capability to multi-task on projects and responsibilities. Strong understanding of the patent process, writing patents, evaluating patents, and understanding the US/PCT patent laws are also essential. Lastly, he/she must have hands-on experience in developing and documenting materials production processes and equipment and in a chemistry lab environment.
