The company is now looking to appoint a suitably seasoned leader within its senior C-suite to drive all strategic matters relating to procurement, logistics and warehouse management.

 

 

The Position 

Reporting to the CEO whilst leading and directing a team of procurement and logistics professionals, the successfully-appointed individual will provide strategic management of the mission critical procurement of raw materials, equipment and professional services as well as warehouse management and logistics operations. The position will be responsible for strategy planning and implementation, the development and inculcation of modern, transformational data-driven procurement processes designed to strengthen commercial results with optimum efficiency, warehouse management and inventory control and associated country-wide logistics management. Necessarily, the Chief Procurement & Logistics Officer will drive ongoing continuous improvement with respect to procurement standards and policies including RFQ, ITB and RFP processes, vendor evaluation and performance management (commercial assessments, KPI measures and records management) whilst meeting commercial objectives (cost management, alternative sourcing contingencies) in alignment with business requirements, the latter requiring insightful and collaborative inter-departmental relationships (sales, production, finance, legal and other key stakeholders). Naturally, the appointee will ensure all practices adhere to the highest standards of corporate compliance and governance whilst also steering ongoing performance management of the team as well as appropriate mentoring and coaching for career development.

 

 

The Person 

Interested candidates will offer an appropriate Degree (Procurement/Finance/Business) preferably supported by an MBA and/or professional accreditation (CPP/CIPS) and at least 12-15 years of professional experience within procurement, warehouse and logistics management. Current or prior experience gained within FMCG is strongly preferred whilst also offering an in-depth understanding of local and international customs and import regulations. Experience gained within a large international company is strongly preferred and should be complemented by excellent bi-lingual Burmese and English proficiency. The appointed individual will offer high energy and an ability to resourcefully seek solutions to create a collaborative and performance-driven organisation.
