International Consumer Goods (FMCG) Firm
Location: Yangon, Myanmar
USD$40-50k per annum
The company is a dynamic, privately held international FMCG company with global revenues in excess of USD$7bn and with well-known brands that compete with the RTD beverage category. It is investing in Asia and this includes planned entry into new markets in 2023 as well as growth of existing ones. Myanmar falls into the latter category and where there is now a need to appoint a Commercial Manager.
Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales for SE Asia, the appointed individual will enjoy a broad, multi-faceted position within a complex commercial environment whilst interfacing with multiple internal and external stakeholders. The Commercial Manager will represent the company to meet its planned sales and market growth targets whilst closely collaborating with its in-market manufacturing and distribution partners to execute these. As such, adopting a granular, evidence-based data-driven approach (consumer insights, supply and demand analytics and forecasting and similar), the appointed individual will guide those partners with respect to marketing strategy and campaign management whilst ensuring product supply is aligned to sales forecasts. This will include the commercial management of 2-3 prominent premium and mid-range brands within the category including product launches, product P&L/budgets, annual marketing and promotions planning. A key aspect of the position is a need to engage with the manufacturing and sales/distribution partner to ensure alignment of commercial interest and to ensure business targets are met.
This is a fabulous opportunity for a dynamic, commercially-minded and influential professional seeking a mid-career change into the FMCG sector.
Interested candidates will offer a good Degree and at least at least 8+ years’ post-graduate experience preferably secured within a business management/commercial management position. This will include a sound appreciation for stakeholder engagement / relationship management, business planning, marketing strategy, budget management and underpinned by data analytics. The successful individual will offer bi-lingual Burmese and English language proficiency whilst demonstrating an ability to operate in a self-motivated and proactive manner complete with an ability to influence and motivate others.
Note: there is a very strong preference to appoint an individual offering transferable skills from outside of the FMCG industry and, as such, those offering a strong record in growing a business (sales growth, marketing campaign management and co-ordination management of third-party partners) are invited to apply.
