The Company 

Headquartered in Singapore, whilst enjoying the support of noted Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) platforms, the company is at a poised for growth across SE Asia with respect to the development, operation and management of a colocation data centre portfolio. Steered by a seasoned, cosmopolitan management team, the company combines deep knowledge across the real estate and data centre life-cycle whilst retaining a nimble, entrepreneurial and empowering culture. There is now a need to build a core team including the appointment of an experienced Director of Technical Operations.

The Position       

Based in Singapore, whilst reporting to the CEO, the appointed individual will undertake a pivotal position to drive strategic planning for DC operations complete with ongoing responsibility for asset- and portfolio-level operations, maintenance and performance. This will require the development and implementation of standard operating processes including input with respect to initial design and development whilst meeting technical and operational expectations of cornerstone customers. Responsibility will include capacity management, incident response protocols, establishing internal standards and performance tracking (SLAs, KPIs, budget, capacity) whilst overseeing all BAU and problem resolution including the development of business continuity planning, risk and safety-related matters. The Director will steer design and development and ensure consistent practices for all assets whilst closely collaborating with design and construction teams, underpinned by facility design including power management and cooling systems. Aside from technical and day-to-day matters, the appointed individual will build and oversee local and regional operations personnel whilst providing pre-acquisition input relating to site feasibilities. Last, but not least, the appointee will manage operational P&L whilst optimising process efficiency and which will underpin investment return and ongoing expansionary growth.

The Person 

Interested candidates will offer a good Degree (Mechanical / Electrical Engineering) preferably with 10-15 years of Data Centre operations experience and at least 5+ years in the capacity of DC Manager with P&L responsibility. Interested candidates should offer proven leadership credentials to steer multiple DC assets across SE Asia, appropriate financial acumen and a strong ability to establish and manage key operational deliverables (KPIs, Customer Service Level Agreements). A record of establishing new assets from the design and construction phase through ongoing operations management is preferred. Given the need to manage assets across SE Asia, excellent English and Bahasa language proficiency would be advantageous.
