The Company

The company is a Myanmar conglomerate and which has been progressively enhancing its capabilities across multiple business divisions including automotive, industrial chemicals, pharma/consumer product manufacturing & distribution and trading. The company continues to grow, bolstered by its international operations. It now wishes to appoint a senior In-House Head of Legal


The Position

Reporting to the Group CEO, the appointed individual will be focused towards Group commercial activities and specifically responsible for the review and preparation of commercial agreements and contracts relating to product distribution, sales & purchase and contract manufacturing whilst offering supporting advise relating to Myanmar and regulations in its overseas markets relating to production and distribution of its consumer products, intellectual property, trademarks, tax and corporate governance. The role will include the drafting and negotiation of contracts, the management and resolution of disputes (contract termination, litigation) whilst overseeing compliance to local laws. The appointed candidate will liaise with external lawyers and provide appropriate guidance and recommendations to the senior management team as a business partner. This is a permanent position based in Yangon whilst the scope will include Myanmar, Singapore and US.


The Person

Interested candidates will offer a Law Degree from a noted law school and a minimum of 8+ years’ PQE legal advocacy experience that combines Private Practice and, preferably, prior In-House experience. Interested candidates must offer current or prior international professional work experience, an excellent command of English complete with high energy and an ability to resourcefully seek solutions.


The company will offer the successful candidate a salary in the region of USD$9,000-10,000+/- net supported by additional expatriate benefits.
