The Company

Our client is a leading pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturing group in Myanmar, operating modern facilities and investing significantly in new plant development and capacity expansion. The organization is undertaking a major greenfield project involving the construction, commissioning, and operational start-up of a new pharmaceutical / medical devices manufacturing facility, aligned with international quality and compliance standards.

The Position

Reporting to the Group CEO, the Project Manager / Engineer will lead the end-to-end delivery of a new manufacturing facility, covering the full lifecycle from initial site development and construction through to commissioning, equipment installation, and handover to operations. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers to ensure timelines, budgets, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include overseeing civil and MEP works, coordinating utilities and cleanroom requirements, managing installation and commissioning of production and laboratory equipment, and ensuring readiness for validation and commercial operations. The role requires strong on-site leadership, technical judgment, and the ability to integrate engineering, construction, and manufacturing needs into a single execution plan.

The Person

The ideal candidate brings 8-10+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, medical devices, or regulated manufacturing environments, with direct exposure to greenfield or major expansion projects. This may include backgrounds in engineering, construction project management, plant engineering, or R&D / technical roles where the individual has led or played a critical role in setting up a manufacturing facility from scratch.

Candidates must demonstrate strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from design and construction through commissioning and equipment installation and be comfortable working at the intersection of engineering, operations, and compliance. Experience within Southeast Asia is highly preferred, along with the ability to operate effectively in emerging-market environments. Strong stakeholder management, technical credibility, and hands-on problem-solving capabilities are essential for success in this role.
