The Company 

Headquartered in Singapore, whilst enjoying the support of noted Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) platforms, the company is at a tipping point for growth across SE Asia in the investment, development and operation of data centres. Steered by a seasoned, cosmopolitan management team, the company combines deep know-how across the real estate and data centre life-cycle whilst culturally nimble, entrepreneurial and empowering. It is poised to satisfy the growing demand for data across the region with rapid growth anticipated from early 2023 following the launch of its initial projects. As a result, there is now a need to build a core team and this includes the appointment of its Project Management team.

The Position       

Based in Kuala Lumpur, the appointed individual will be the key Owner’s representative to oversee greenfield Data Centre construction projects from inception to handover to its vertically-integrated operations team. The role will enjoy end-to-end, full life-cycle responsibility. This will include site selection and due diligence, managing relationships with local authorities (approvals, permits), the evaluation of local suppliers through to oversight of the design and construction process. Naturally, this will include customary budget and milestone management (time, cost and quality) whilst overseeing contractors and ensuring specifications meet customer requirements with documented completion checklists, project close-out and subsequent facilitation of tenant entry and equipment installation. Additional responsibility will include the co-ordination of site tours from time-to-time (customers, investors, utility reps) whilst also supporting the general management and administration during corporate set-up phase in the country.

The Person 

Interested candidates will offer a good Degree in Engineering/Construction, Professional Engineer, PMP or LEED accreditation and at least 7+ years’ experience supporting end-to-end project delivery and which should include exposure to MEP works. Experience will include an ability to manage the full life-cycle including an ability to read site plans and engineering drawings, manage RFP processes and track key milestones. Aside from strong interpersonal skills including strong English-language proficiency, native Bahasa (and, ideally, Mandarin), interested candidates must offer an ability to drive projects and processes independently. Prior exposure to Data Centre development/construction would be an advantage.
