The Company

The company is a fast-growing Myanmar conglomerate operating across the real estate, construction and hospitality vertical including construction materials, Greenfield commercial and residential developments, trading and financial services. Given a plethora of current and forthcoming real estate development projects and other new business initiatives, the company has an aggressive hiring plan. This will include a significant number of mid- and senior-level professionals across a critical real estate, construction, property, data centre and leisure-related management functions. There is an immediate need for a Head of its Data Centre business.

The Position

Leading a team whilst reporting to the Group MD, the Head of the Data Centre business will drive the enterprise from both a commercial and technical perspective. As such, the focus will be divided between business development, market expansion, opportunity evaluation, commercial negotiation and the development and delivery of Service Level Agreements to clients and also a corresponding need to establish the data centre including all technical parameters (design, development, capacity, energy efficiency, equipment sizing, district cooling and more) to ensure for a robust, secure and optimized delivery to corporate clients. As such, the role requires commercial acumen to analyse the BU financial management to drive P&L whilst offering technical and team leadership to ensure the Data Centre operates to First Class standards of excellence. There will be an accompanying need to build, train and manage a team, continuously secure new corporate clients for expansion whilst seeking to continuously improve day-to-day operations.

This is a leadership role designed to build and execute a new, high-profile Business Unit whilst leveraging the firm’s ready capability to develop and construct complex real estate-related projects.

The Person

Interested candidates will offer an appropriate Degree (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) and at least 8+ years relevant experience managing Data Centre Infrastructure. In addition, candidates should offer strong commercial acumen relating to corporate business development and price negotiation and the delivery of contracted Service Level Agreements. Strong planning and resource management skills will be important whilst strategic leadership will be essential. The firm is open to local/repat and expatriate candidates.
